Tweedy by Hedgehog
Tweed DK yarn and the coloured bits are Hedgehog's hand-dyed waste - the ties that were taken off the hand dyed skeins. Hedgehog save them very diligently and it’s a total labour of love!
Hedgehog has been collecting the ties for a while and they finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again. They have a batch of this lovely taupe, grey-ish tweed yarn with colourful speckles. We love how neutral it is with a colourful bit here and there. Hedgehog is always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimise waste. On top of their thread waste they are using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. We love the result! It’s soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing. 230m/100g
