We suggest the following yarns fro this project:
Bee’s Knees! This combination of bold cables and delicate texture, worked in a gorgeous deep yellow was just what my soul needed while staying home for weeks on end.
The sweater features simple design elements that highlight the cable and texture, such as V-neck shaping that allows the cables to subtly follow the lines of the opening, a delicate shawl collar, a ribbed hem that flows right into the cable pattern, and a beautiful join at back neck. Plus I added side detail to make modifications for width easy, and simple edgings to make picking up stitches along fronts and armholes simple as well.
Bee’s Knees is worked from the bottom up, then separated at armholes and worked in 3 pieces to shoulder. Once shoulders are seamed, sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in the round to cuff. The cable detail is continued upwards beyond shoulders and seamed down to upper back and the shawl collar is picked up and worked last.
For fit shown, I suggest choosing the size that allows you about 4-6”/10-15.75cm of positive ease at bust.
Length or width can be adjusted if needed, Shawl collar can be made either deeper or narrower - or worked as a straight button band. Notes are in the pattern on where and how to make modifications.
Cable and texture patterns are both charted and written.
Sizes (Size Inclusive!)
34.5(37.5,40.5,43,46.5,49.5)(52,55,58,62.5)” 87.5(95.25,103,109.25,118.25,125.75)(132,139.75,147.5,158.75)cm around bust, worn closed.
Sizes are based on final, blocked fabric and reflect measurement around finished sweater, when worn closed. Choose the size that gives you about 4-6”/10-15.25cm positive ease based on your actual bust measurement for fit shown. If choosing an alternate silhouette, check schematic measurements to be sure shoulders, sleeves, and length will fit as desired.
