StevenBe Workshop Weekend
Meet Steven Berg.
More commonly known as StevenBe–That's Be as in "Be inspired. Be brilliant. Be limitless." StevenBe wields a wealth of knowledge, a daring sense of style, and a "firm belief in the transformative power of creativity that knitting or crocheting offers to all who are brave enough to push the boundaries."
As a child, he spent his time knitting sequin dresses for exceptionally fashionable Barbies. Naturally, he studied fashion design at Parsons and the Fashion Institute of Technology. He went on to work in the fashion industry, even serving as Perry Ellis' VP of Design.
His creative endeavors led him to back to the world of fiber arts, and now he runs his own store in Minneapolis, "a cross between your grandmother’s attic and your eccentric uncle’s boudoir" filled to the brim with all the yarn, roving, knitting needles, crochet hooks and notions you could ever need.
He spends his time designing patterns for knitters and crocheters, hosting workshops, and inspiring, encouraging, and challenging us all to push the limits. He always says: "The possibilities are endless," "There are no mistakes, only variations," "And always remember to ‘Glam it up!’"
We are honored and excited to announce StevenBe is coming to Yarning for Ewe to host a weekend of fun!
We'll start things off with a Meet and Greet and a trunk show of Steven's designs. We'll have over 30 pieces on display to show you how different yarns translate into one-of-a-kind garments and accessories.
Steven is also teaching two of his favorite workshops this weekend: New Perspectives on Unique Garments and Amazing Accessories and Know Your Colors, Know Thyself.
In New Perspectives, Steven will broaden your knitting horizons and change your life. This workshop is an amazing opportunity to have fun while learning Steven’s best tips and tricks. It will set you free from patterns as written and help you feel comfortable making your own modifications and design decisions. Allow StevenBe to help you release the hidden designer within.
As for Know Your Colors, your knits and color choices say about you. Steven is going to guide you through a quiz that will show you which colors you should be working with to truly represent yourself. Bring your favorite hand-knit (or crochet) and share it with Steven for a peek into your personal fiber future–he knows all, sees all, tells all!
